4월15일 세금내는 날, 막중한 세금을 내는데, 테드크루즈는 간편한세율 모두에게 공정한 세율로 모두에게 10% 공정한 세율을 적용하겠다는 공언을 했다.
On “Tax Day”, we are all reminded of the government’s far too intrusive hand in our lives – the IRS continues to take more and more of our hard-earned dollars while in return doling out favors to Washington’s special interests.
Under Cruz’s Simple Flat Tax, that will end. Cruz’s tax plan is fair, ending the loopholes for the favored few; it’s one flat rate of 10% for all individuals; and it’s so simple you can fill it out on a postcard.
Imagine next year completing your tax plan in ten minutes, and then going on with your real work. And when you send your taxes in, it won’t be to the IRS because Cruz’s plan abolishes the IRS and roots out the corruption.
Under the Cruz Simple Flat Tax, the first $36,000 for a family of four will not be taxed and, within a decade, every category of workers will see a double-digit increase in take-home pay and the median household’s after-tax income will increase by $7,600.
Last night, Americans got to know the Cruz family – their heart for service, their good humor, their love for each other – in an intimate town hall setting on CNN.
Heidi was a poised picture of grace and compassion; at the same time, letting Americans know why Ted would be a great president.
The Cruz girls, Caroline and Catherine came on stage and they talked about how they have fun on the campaign trail – even playing a campaign game. Today Caroline turns eight. Catherine is five. And what’s remarkable is that even at such a young age, they know their dad is running for president, and they know he’s doing it for the country.
It’s not always easy having a dad who’s on the road campaigning, but they join him often, they are definitely the liveliest members of the team, bringing much joy to all – and that’s what’s so incredible about this campaign. It’s a family effort. And it’s because of many helping hands, supporters, volunteers, and families, that we continue to unite Republicans so that together we can turn this country around.

House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said on Tuesday he would reject any attempt to draft him as a presidential candidate, trying to silence speculation that he could surface as a unity choice should Donald Trump or Ted Cruz falter.
"Let me be clear: I do not want nor will I accept the nomination of our party," Ryan said in remarks at the Republican National Committee.
Ryan, the top elected Republican in Washington and the party's 2012 vice presidential candidate, has been the subject of persistent speculation that he could emerge as the nominee if an impasse over the party's pick develops at the July 18-21 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
In an interview with Milwaukee's WISN radio earlier on Tuesday, Ryan said: "I am going to try again today to put this bed. The answer is 'No' and my strong opinion is, if it goes to an open convention ... my answer is the delegates should pick among the people who actually ran for president this year ...
"I made a really clear choice not to run for president. Therefore, I will not be nominated. I will not allow my name to be placed in nomination and it will not be me. ...I just want to be really crystal clear," he said.
Ryan has repeatedly said he is not interested in entering the presidential race, but advocates for such a scenario have pointed out that he was cool to becoming House speaker until he was finally persuaded to take over from John Boehner last year.
Republicans who see a disaster looming in the Nov. 8 presidential election if Trump or U.S. Senator Cruz of Texas is the nominee have harbored hopes of drafting a popular party figure like Ryan or 2012 candidate Mitt Romney.
For that to happen, no candidate would have garnered the 1,237 delegates required to win the nomination on the first ballot at the convention, and delegates there would have to approve a consensus alternative on a second or subsequent ballot.

Ryan's announcement came on a day when long-shot Republican presidential candidate John Kasich portrayed himself as an antidote to what he called the divisive politics of Trump and Cruz and criticized them as wanting to take the United States down a "path of darkness."
Kasich's "two paths" speech in New York City was an effort to distinguish himself from his rivals and carve out a space for himself as a positive, reasonable conservative a week before New York state's Republican and Democratic primaries on April 19.
Kasich - running a distant third behind Trump and Cruz and with no chance of capturing the Republican nomination unless he can emerge from a contested convention - did not mention Trump and Cruz by name but left no doubt as to who he was talking about.
He lashed out at Trump proposals to deport 11 million illegal immigrants and impose protectionist trade policies. He ridiculed Cruz's idea for a business flat tax, calling it a value-added tax. These are examples of a path of darkness, he said.
"Some who feed off of the fears and anger that is felt by some of us and exploit it feed their own insatiable desire for fame or attention. That could drive America down into a ditch, not make us great again," Kasich said, referring to Trump's signature line.
As 14 other rivals have dropped out of the race, Kasich has doggedly stayed in even though he has underperformed, winning only his home state of Ohio. But his goal is to emerge from a contested convention as a unifying nominee for the November general election, one who polls well against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
"A united America is undefeatable," Kasich said. "We are an exceptional country."
Whether his speech will have an impact on the race at this late stage is far from certain.
Trump is favored to win the April 19 primary in his home state. He holds a huge lead in opinion polls there, with Kasich running a distant second and Cruz in third place.
A victory for Trump would help tamp down concerns among his supporters that he is suddenly vulnerable after Cruz beat him in Wisconsin last week and won all Republican delegates in Colorado on Saturday.
In some good news for Trump, he was formally declared the winner of Missouri's Republican primary, which was held on March 15.

Urgent: Rate Obama on His Job Performance. Vote Here Now!
4월12일 뉴스입니다. 어제는 켈리포니아 공화당원으로서 선출된 공직자 50명이 테드 크루즈를 지지한다고 밝혔습니다.
Yesterday in California, we saw overwhelming support on the ground as men and women from across the state came together to support Ted Cruz.
Fifty California Republican elected leaders have endorsed Ted Cruz for President.
We continue to see momentum growing behind our campaign as people know that the best way to escape from the Obama economy is to elect a conservative who will bring back booming economic growth by fundamentally reforming taxes, expanding opportunities to grow your business, and allowing for the creation of millions of jobs for working Americans.
Hard-working New Yorkers are excited that they finally have a true conservative, like Ted Cruz, on the ballot.
Donald Trump has supported Democrat politicians all his life. He has backed liberal polices that have made it difficult for average Americans to thrive and achieve their dreams.
His record of supporting abortion, universal healthcare, and hiring illegal workers shows that he has the experience to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate -- not the Republican nominee.
We will win against the Democrats in November not by nominating a candidate who has held their same liberal views for most of his adult life, but by championing a conservative who understands that the best way to restore jobs, freedom, and security is by abiding by the Constitution and the rule of law and reining in federal regulation so that the people once again innovate and create more opportunities for all. And that’s exactly what Ted has spent his life doing and what he will do starting on day one in the White House.

Ted Cruz on the O’Reilly Factor
On the trail in New York, Ted Cruz continues to share his message of Jobs, Freedom, and Security – today with people in the Jewish and African American Community in New York City.
While nearly eight years of failed Obama economic and foreign policies have weakened our communities and our standing in the world, Ted Cruz has an optimistic vision – with real solutions – to reignite prosperity and security.
Obamacare is making it harder for small businesses to survive. Higher taxes and excessive regulations are closing down mom-and-pop shops. We have the lowest labor force participation we’ve seen since the Carter Administration. And on the world stage, we have a Carter 2.0 failed strategy of appeasement.
But the good news is we can turn things around quickly – just like we saw in the 1980s – if we elect a president who understands that jobs and growth don’t come from the government. They come from the people if the government gets out of the way and lets them innovate and expand opportunity. And when it comes to foreign policy, if we unite behind a leader who understands how vital it is to our security to stand with our allies, especially Israel, and to defeat our enemies, especially ISIS, we will be stronger and safer once again.

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich took shots at rival Ted Cruz on Friday, saying that that the Texas senator's actions on Capitol Hill proved that "he has no record."
"The problem with Senator Cruz is he has no record," Kasich said on the campaign trail in Hershey, Pa., CNN reports. "His record is shutting down the government and making everybody he works with upset.
"Now, maybe he ought to talk about what he's for going forward — because what he's been for in the past hasn't worked."
Kasich comments marked a departure from his longtime position of wanting to remain above the fray during the contest for the Republican nomination, coming a day after a super PAC supporting the Ohio governor released a political ad using front-runner Donald Trump's negative moniker for Cruz: "Lyin' Ted."
He told CNN later on Friday that while he did not like the ad from the PAC, New Day for America, he would not allow Cruz to bash him without responding.
"I have a right to stick up for what I believe in," Kasich said. "But that's a direction I don't want to go."
Under federal law, Kasich is not allowed to coordinate with or contribute to New Day.
John Weaver, the governor's campaign manager, also posted this on Twitter:

Moments after Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for President on Tuesday, Donald Trump criticized him for refusing to raise taxes in Wisconsin.
Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, insisted in a radio interview with Illinois-based Michael Koolidge that Walker’s spending cuts and preservation of low taxes were bad for Wisconsin.
The Guardian caught the exchange:
“There’s a $2.2 billion deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didn’t want to raise taxes ’cause he was going to run for president. So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things.”
Trump added that “Wisconsin has a lot of problems, plus there is tremendous hatred” before saying the state is not “running smoothly.”
Despite Trump’s admonishing of Walker’s policies, many of which are in line with the Republican Party’s official platform, the state is in fairly decent shape.

As of May 2015, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is below the national average at 4.8 percent, according to the state’s economic outlook report. In addition, the outlook also projects continued increases in personal income levels across the state.
According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Cruz has taken a slim lead from Trump in Wisconsin.
